Abuja was home for almost three years, and this letter goes back to the people, routines and experiences that stayed with me.
There’s Harmattan dust, colourful Ankara fabric, life in our compound and stories from the days when I was “Madam Ellie.” It’s a candid letter about finding my voice and remembering a place that left me with plenty of love and some complicated feelings.
A good one for someone who’s lived abroad, learned to speak up or enjoys hearing what everyday life was actually like somewhere else.
