Welcome to Letters From A Friend Abroad.
These Terms & Conditions explain how purchases, subscriptions, shipping, cancellations, refunds, and use of this website work. By placing an order or subscribing, you agree to these terms.
1. About Letters From A Friend Abroad
Letters From A Friend Abroad is a physical letter subscription created by Eliana.
The letters include personal stories, reflections, cultural observations, postcards, small keepsakes, recommendations, and other creative elements connected to life abroad, memory, place, and everyday life.
These letters are creative and personal in nature. They are not professional advice, therapy, counseling, legal advice, financial advice, medical advice, or travel guidance.
2. What You Can Purchase
You may be able to purchase:
One Letter
A single letter experience.
Monthly Correspondence
A monthly subscription that renews until canceled.
Seasonal Correspondence
A 6-month prepaid correspondence plan.
Annual Correspondence
A 12-month prepaid correspondence plan that includes the Introduction Letter with the first monthly letter, 12 monthly letters total, and a Happy Birthday letter.
Product details may change slightly over time as the letter experience evolves, but every order will be prepared with care and intention.
3. Order Cut-Off Dates
Orders placed by the 30th of the month receive the next month’s letter.
For example:
Orders placed by June 30 receive the July letter.
Orders placed on July 1 or later begin with the August letter.
After the monthly cut-off closes, that month’s letter becomes part of the archive and is no longer included for new orders unless otherwise stated.
4. When Letters Are Sent
Letters are mailed between the 14th and 18th of each month.
Because this is physical mail, exact arrival dates cannot be guaranteed.
5. Shipping
Letters may ship from Tbilisi, Stockholm, or Belgrade, depending on where I am when that month’s letters are prepared and mailed.
Estimated delivery time is 4–6 weeks.
Delivery times may vary due to international postal systems, customs, holidays, weather, local delays, or other circumstances outside my control.
6. Lost or Damaged Mail
If your letter arrives damaged or does not arrive, please contact me.
I will send a replacement letter where possible.
7. Cancellations
Monthly Subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions can be canceled before that month’s letter has shipped.
Once that month’s letter has shipped, that payment is no longer refundable.
Canceling your monthly subscription stops future renewal charges.
Seasonal and Annual Subscriptions
Seasonal and Annual Correspondence plans are prepaid.
Once the first letter has shipped, these plans are non-refundable.
You may still cancel your subscription so it does not automatically renew, if automatic renewal applies.
Cancellations Before Shipping
You may cancel before your letter has shipped.
Letters are mailed between the 14th and 18th of each month.
If you want to cancel that month’s letter, please contact me before it has been prepared and shipped.
Once a letter has shipped, I cannot guarantee cancellation of that month’s letter.
8. Refunds
One-off letter orders may be canceled and refunded before the letter has shipped.
Once a letter has shipped, the order is no longer refundable unless the letter is lost, damaged, or incorrect.
For Seasonal and Annual Correspondence, refunds are not available after the first letter has shipped.
9. EU Customers
If you are located in the EU, you may have consumer rights under EU law, including a possible 14-day withdrawal period for online purchases.
Because Letters From A Friend Abroad is sent by international post and may not include tracking, I may not always know the exact date your letter is delivered.
If you are an EU customer and wish to cancel, withdraw from a purchase, or ask a question about your order, please contact me as soon as possible at lettersfromafriendabroad@gmail.com
If your letter has not yet been shipped, I can cancel and refund your order.
If your letter has already been shipped, please contact me and I will review the situation based on the timing, the type of order, and any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
This policy does not limit any rights you may have under applicable law.
10. Address Accuracy
You are responsible for entering your correct shipping address.
If your address changes, please update your details or contact me before the monthly cut-off or before your next letter is prepared.
I cannot guarantee replacement if a letter is sent to an incorrect address provided at checkout, but I’ll do my best to help.
11. Birthday Letters
Annual Correspondence includes a Happy Birthday letter.
To send this, I may ask for your birthday month and day.
I do not need your birth year.
If birthday information is not provided, I may not be able to send the birthday letter at the correct time.
12. Audio Version
Letters may include access to an audio version read by me.
The audio is provided for personal use only and should not be copied, shared publicly, reposted, sold, or redistributed.
13. Intellectual Property
All letters, stories, audio recordings, photographs, designs, website copy, and creative materials are owned by Letters From A Friend Abroad unless otherwise stated.
You may enjoy them for personal use.
You may not copy, reproduce, resell, publish, distribute, or use them commercially without written permission.
14. Personal Use
Your letter and any included materials are intended for personal enjoyment.
You are welcome to keep, display, or send included postcards if they are designed for that purpose.
However, the written letter itself may not be reproduced, sold, or shared publicly in full.
15. Pricing and Payments
Prices are listed on the website.
Payments are processed online through secure third-party payment providers.
Prices may change in the future, but changes will not affect orders already placed unless otherwise stated.
16. Website Use
You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or use the website for unlawful purposes.
17. Changes to the Letter Experience
Because this is a creative physical mail project, the exact contents may vary from month to month.
A letter may include different types of postcards, keepsakes, recommendations, or other small elements depending on the month, location, story, availability, and what feels right for that letter.
18. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
When I do, I will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
